Review: Tad James’ The Secret
of Creating
Your Future®
I took The Secret of Creating Your Future® course about four years ago and was sold on it by one of the persons in Tad’s office. This program is supposed to:
- Identify and eliminate your personal blocks and replace them, with effective and powerful strategies to change your life.
- Change Your Financial capabilities for a more secure future.
- How to create the most respectful, loving, and nurturing relationship.
- Improve your family relationships.
- Discover and identify with what you truly want in life.

I also asked her if I would learn Time-Line Therapy™ in this course and she told me that I would. “Great”, I thought, “I’m in!”
For $99 this was a 3-day course in changing my life. A bargain — and I get to learn Time-Line Therapy™, too! (By the way, all the ™’s and ®’s are because Tad likes to own these names, even though he really didn’t “invent” time-line therapy (it’s an NLP technique). Tad, however is an expert in time-line and wrote a phenomenal book on it called Time Line Therapy and the Basis of Personality.
However, after traveling to New York City, where the seminar was held, and paying for parking and hotel, this $99 seminar was over $500. Usually I would mind, but, this seminar hadn’t begun and they dropped the first bomb:
No, they wouldn’t be teaching Time-Line Therapy™ in this course, but will do some techniques. Great… just great. The person in the office, the registration lady explained, must have gotten it wrong and misinformed me. Great, again.
And, they also “misinformed” a few other persons behind me too. Man, were we ticked-off.
We could, however, get a full refund now if we weren’t satisfied. Oh.., nice. A $99 refund after spending over $500 for travel and accommodations, and that didn’t include lost time at my office.
Well, the seminar was okay. I learned some skills that were pretty good and they did work. So, I got my 99 buck’s worth, I suppose.
However, the entire seminar was constantly interrupted by live “infomercials” for Tad James’ seminars, books, and courses. I paid $99 for a pitch-fest and I wasn’t happy. (Oh, the final day of the event was a complete commercial for the Huna course — expect to pay tens of thousands for this one!)
So, would I recommend the live course? No. Definitely not, no, no, stay away.
However, there is an alternative: Get the book, The Secret of Creating Your Future. It’s out-of-print, but that link will take you to Amazon where you can get the book for a very low price.
